Check out this baddie! THIS was swimming in the lake near our house a couple of days ago. I think SWIMMING WITH THE ALLIGATORS may be the title of my next book:

This picture was taken from my neighbor's kitchen window. GAH! Now that I've seen one in real life, I'm baffled as to why they're pictured all cutesy-wootsy on tourist T-shirts, sipping tropical drinks and sporting sun visors. Whose idea was that? What is cute aobut a giant, scaly, man-eating reptile? Nothing. No wonder toursim is down.

Want to win a free copy of SWIMMING WITH THE SHARKS? Just enter my Who's Your Baddie contest:

Who's your baddie? Out the bully you grew up with (first names or fake names only please) or maybe even still know. Just leave a comment on this blog and you might win a signed copy of SWIMMING WITH THE SHARKS! If you don't feel like outing your bully, no problem. Just leave a comment anyway and say hi. Winner will be picked by random number generator Friday of next week, September 26.

Here's my baddie: When I was in elementary school, the meanest boy in class was named Angel. The first time I saw Angel slam someone's face into the water fountain, I understood the meaning of irony.

Best Medicine Ever

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

And now I feel like pretty good! Amazing how that works, isn't it? Congrats to fellow 2k8er Brooke Taylor, author of UNDONE, who also won. And thank you Flamingnet.com! If you'd like to read the review and check out their website, click HERE

So there you have it, the best medicine ever. Hopefully, now I'll feel well enough next week to get busy promoting this:

SWIMMING WITH THE SHARKS comes out in 3 months! I can't help but feel this release is pretty timely, what with all the news about girl bullying lately. Remember the teen girls who beat another girl to a pulp, then posted it on YouTube? Guess what I just found out? When they were arrested, there was only one thing they complained about:

They were missing cheerleading practice.

Favorite line today: "It's sad to see the commander in chief not being able to play golf." George Dubya Bush.
